Harley, the Stud Dog
We looked for a Stud Dog that had a chance to carry on the colours that we fell in love with from Lucy – so looked for an orange roan cocker spaniel stud dog, that had also been health checked. We found Harley (Banklin Master Caramack). He was hereditary clear for the following disorders (as both his parents were clear).
Acral Mutilation Syndrome (AMS) – an inherited nerve disorder
Familial Nephropathy (FN) – an inherited kidney disease
Progressive Retinal Atrophy (DNA – prcd-PRA) – an inherited progressive rod-cone degeneration in the eye
Having both parents health screened means that neither the puppies in the current litter, nor their puppies, can suffer from these conditions.
. You can see Harley’s kennel club health record on the Kennel Club Web Site
